What is Teflon and what is it used for?

Teflon is commonly known as polytetrafluoroethylene (English abbreviation teflon or [PTFE, F4]), known as/commonly known as the “plastic king”, and also known as “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, “Teflon”, and “Teflon”. It is a polymer compound made of tetrafluoroethylene by polymerization, and its structure is simple as -[-cf2-cf2 -]n-.

Polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly known as a non-stick coating or easy to clean material. This material has the characteristics of acid and alkali resistance, resistance to various organic solvents, and almost insoluble in all solvents. At the same time, polytetrafluoroethylene has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, its coefficient of friction is very low, so it can be used for lubrication, but also become an ideal coating for easy to clean the inner layer of water pipes.

Teflon plating mainly depends on what kind of process you want to determine how to spray. The most important thing is that the Teflon coating needs to be baked at high temperatures before it can be used.

Characteristics of Teflon:

Non-adhesive: Almost all substances do not bond with the teflon coating.

Low temperature resistance: good mechanical toughness; Even if the temperature drops to -196 ° C, 5% elongation can be maintained. It’s still soft at -100 degrees.

High temperature resistance: polytetrafluoroethylene coating has excellent heat and low temperature resistance. It can withstand high temperature to 300 ° C for a short time, generally can be used continuously between 240 ° C and 260 ° C, and has significant thermal stability, it can work at freezing temperatures without embrittlement, and does not melt at high temperatures.

High lubrication: It is the lowest friction coefficient in solid materials. It has the lowest coefficient of friction (0.04) among plastics. Smoother than ice.

Moisture resistance: the surface of the PTFE coating is not stained with water and oil, and it is not easy to stick to the solution during production operation. If there is a small amount of dirt, it can be removed by simply wiping. Short downtime saves time and improves work efficiency.

Wear resistance: It has excellent wear resistance under high load. Under a certain load, it has the dual advantages of wear resistance and non-adhesion.

Corrosion resistance: polytetrafluoroethylene is almost free from drug attack, and can withstand all strong acids (including aqua aqua), strong oxidants, reducing agents and various organic solvents in addition to molten alkali metals, fluorinated media and sodium hydroxide above 300 ° C, and can protect parts from any kind of chemical corrosion.

Aging resistance: radiation resistance and low permeability: long-term exposure to the atmosphere, the surface and performance remain unchanged.

Incombustible: oxygen limit index is below 90.

Acid and alkali resistance: insoluble in strong acids, strong bases and organic solvents (including magic acid, that is, fluoroantimonic acid).

Oxidation resistance: resistant to corrosion by strong oxidants.

Insulation: Excellent electrical performance, is an ideal C-class insulation material, a layer of newspaper thick can block 1500V high pressure. Its electrical insulation is not affected by temperature. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss are low in a wide frequency range, and the breakdown voltage, volume resistivity and arc resistance are high.

Acid-base: neutral.
